This video describes how our economy may have gotten to where we are today.

I had my teenage children watch this, however, (warning) this video may not be suitable for young children.

What are your thoughts about central banks and/or the Federal Reserve? Do you think the creation of the Federal Reserve helped or hurt the American dream? Do you believe the Federal Reserve is part of the government or a private bank? Should they control the dollar? How do you think moving our dollars off the gold standard in 1971 affected the American dream?

There are so many questions that I think we should be considering. This is what we should be teaching in schools, however, it has become painfully clear that it is up to us to teach our children about history, finances, and probably even math nowadays.
