Choose Carefully

“Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future.”

There is a lot of truth in this. Whether we realize it or not, the people we surround ourselves with shape our character and influence the trajectory of our lives. We tend to adopt the behaviors, preferences, and thought patterns of those we spend time with. It’s like a subtle osmosis of energy. These energies seep into our lives. So, do the ones around you influence your finances positively or negatively?

Know what your goals are. If you want to be successful, find others who you believe are successful. If you want to learn to be better at something, hang out with people who are good at that something. Likewise, if you want to save money, find others who also like to save and be more frugal.

Read books, listen/watch podcasts, and/or be around people who are smarter or better than you at that something. They say to find a room where you are the dumbest, and when you no longer are, then find another room. Uncomfortable, yes, but that helps us grow to meet our goals. You can mentor ones in your previous rooms but be sure to keep growing to meet your goals.

Be mindful of your environment and seek energies that will help you grow into the best version of yourself, so you can be a positive energy for others.

Choose your surroundings carefully as your environment tends to become you.

I feel we are all students of one another, learning from each other’s strengths and weaknesses. I am not a financial advisor, but I am continuously learning on my journey to become financially independent, and I’m passionate about teaching others how to do the same. Come learn with me so we can live our best lives and then spread our wings to help others do the same
